Frequently asked questions

Can a mosaic be reversed?

The saved file doesn't retain the original pixels, so it can't be undone. That said, a mosaic with very small cells or a weak blur can sometimes still be guessed, so for text like a national ID or account number, we recommend solid fill.

Is the photo sent to a server?

No. Opening, masking, and saving the photo all happen in your browser.

Is the photo info (EXIF) removed too?

Yes. The result photo is saved fresh, so EXIF data like location or device info isn't included.

How do I remove an area I drew by mistake?

Press Undo (Ctrl+Z), or select an area and press Delete or the ✕ in the list.
