Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between encodeURI and encodeURIComponent?
encodeURI is meant for a whole URL, so it leaves delimiters like : / ? & = untouched. When encoding a single query value, use encodeURIComponent, which also escapes those characters.
I get an error when decoding.
Old site URLs are sometimes encoded in EUC-KR. This tool assumes UTF-8, so it can't decode those.
